Anchor Terms of Service
Last updated: September 18, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Anchor, an app developed by an individual developer, Khurram Naseem ("the Developer", "we", "us"). By creating an account, subscribing to Anchor Pro, or otherwise using Anchor, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
Description of service
Anchor helps you limit your own use of distracting apps by letting you select protected apps, set daily time limits, and block those apps once your limit is reached. Anchor's core features work without an account. An optional account adds cross-device sync, an Accountability Partner feature, and Anchor Pro.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if higher, to create an Anchor account. If you're inviting or being invited as an Accountability Partner, both accounts are subject to this same requirement.
Accounts and security
You're responsible for providing accurate account information and for keeping your password confidential. Anchor allows an account to be actively signed in on only one device at a time (see the Privacy Policy for how this works); signing into a new device may require signing out elsewhere first. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Accountability Partner feature
The Accountability Partner feature lets you invite another Anchor user to see your protection status and to approve or reject requests you send them (for example, to temporarily lift a limit). This feature is opt-in on both sides — an invitation only takes effect once accepted, and either party may end the relationship at any time, subject to any in-app restriction you agreed to when connecting. See the Privacy Policy's “Accountability Partner sharing” section for exactly what data this feature shares.
Anchor is a self-directed productivity tool, not a clinical, medical, or therapeutic product. It is not a substitute for professional help with addiction, mental health, or any condition requiring clinical intervention. If you need that kind of support, please seek it from a qualified professional.
Subscriptions, pricing and billing
Anchor's Free plan lets you protect a limited number of apps at a time. Anchor Pro removes that limit and is offered as an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription, purchased and billed entirely through Google Play at the price shown at the time of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews for the same term unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play Store account settings. Refunds are governed solely by Google Play's refund policies — we do not process or issue refunds directly and have no visibility into your payment details, since Google handles billing entirely.
Because Anchor currently has no backend server to verify purchases independently, Pro entitlement is checked against the Google Play Store account active on your device, not cryptographically bound to your Anchor account. See the Privacy Policy’s "Subscriptions and Google Play Billing" section for what this means in practice, including when you may need to use "Restore purchases." We may change this model, including tightening entitlement to a single account, in a future update.
We may change subscription pricing or features going forward; any change to the price of an active subscription will be communicated in advance as required by Google Play's policies.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app beyond what's permitted by applicable law; use the Accountability Partner feature to harass, impersonate, or invite someone without their knowledge; attempt to circumvent Anchor Pro entitlement checks or Google Play billing; or use the app in any way that violates applicable law.
Permissions required for core functionality
Anchor’s blocking features depend on the Usage Access and "Display over other apps" permissions. If you deny or revoke these permissions, protection and blocking will not function, and Anchor cannot guarantee enforcement of any limit. Anchor is not a device-level parental control or mobile device management solution, and a determined user can circumvent it (for example, by uninstalling the app or revoking permissions) — by design, Anchor relies on your own commitment, optionally reinforced by an Accountability Partner.
Intellectual property
Anchor's app, design, branding, and content are owned by the Developer and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You retain all rights to the data you enter into the app (such as your protected app selections). We claim no ownership over your personal data.
Disclaimer of warranties
Anchor is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted, error-free operation. We do not guarantee that Anchor will successfully block every attempt to access a protected app, or that it will help you achieve any particular outcome.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use Anchor, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Termination
You may stop using Anchor and delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription — you must cancel that separately through Google Play.
Changes to the service or these terms
We may modify or discontinue features of Anchor, and may update these Terms, at any time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date in the app. Continuing to use Anchor after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Anchor will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan.
