Anchor Manager Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Anchor Manager ("Anchor Manager", "the app", "we", "us") collects, how it’s used, and who it’s shared with. Anchor Manager is a companion app to Anchor, both developed by an individual developer, Khurram Naseem ("the Developer"). By using Anchor Manager, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

What Anchor Manager is

Anchor Manager is the companion app for Anchor's Accountability Partner feature. Someone using Anchor to limit their own app usage can invite a trusted person as their Accountability Partner; that person uses this app to accept the invitation and to review requests the Anchor user sends them. Anchor Manager has no features of its own beyond this — it doesn't protect apps, track usage, or work without a connected Anchor user.

Information we collect

Account information. To use Anchor Manager, we collect the email address and password you provide to create an account. Your password is handled entirely by Firebase Authentication (a Google service) — we never see or store your raw password ourselves.

Invitations addressed to you. We look up pending Accountability Partner invitations sent to your email address, so you can see and respond to them.

The Anchor user's shared data, once connected. After you accept an invitation, Anchor Manager reads — directly from the same cloud database Anchor itself uses — the connected Anchor user's email address, whether their protection is currently on or off, the list of apps they've chosen to protect and each one's daily limit, and any requests they send you (for example, to temporarily lift a limit) along with their status and history. Anchor Manager never reads their general app usage, message content, or location — only what's listed here.

Your decisions. When you approve or reject a request, we record that decision (and any optional reason you give for a rejection) against that request, visible to the Anchor user you're connected with.

How we use information

We use the information above solely to operate the Accountability Partner feature: showing you invitations addressed to you, showing you the Anchor user's protection status and requests once connected, and recording your approve/reject decisions. We do not sell your personal information, do not use it for advertising, and do not use any analytics or tracking SDKs in this app.

What the Anchor user can see about you

The connection is mutual. Once you accept an invitation, the Anchor user can see your email address, and can see the fact that you've approved or rejected each request they've sent, including any optional reason you gave for a rejection. You cannot change their device or their protected-app settings directly — your only actions are accepting/declining an invitation and approving/rejecting requests they initiate.

No special permissions, no billing

Anchor Manager does not request any special device permissions (no usage access, no display-over-other-apps, no notifications access) and has no subscription or payment features of its own — Anchor Pro is purchased and managed entirely within the Anchor app by the Anchor user. If that account's Pro subscription lapses, Anchor Manager will tell you your ability to approve or reject their requests is paused, while still letting you see their existing requests and history.

Third-party service providers

We rely on Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore (Google LLC), which store your account and the shared accountability data on Google Cloud infrastructure — the same Firebase project Anchor itself uses, since the two apps share one backend by design. We do not use any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or data brokers.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Anchor Manager doesn’t currently have a self-serve "delete account" option in the app — to request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below and we’ll process it manually. Ending an Accountability Partner relationship (from either side, in either app) removes that specific connection but does not by itself delete your Anchor Manager account.

Your rights and choices

You can decline an invitation you don't want, and either side of an active relationship can end it (subject to any restriction the Anchor user set when connecting). You can log out of Anchor Manager at any time from the dashboard. Contact us using the details below to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.

Children's privacy

Anchor Manager is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including Firebase's authentication and access-control rules, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International data transfers

Because we use Google's Firebase infrastructure, your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the app with an updated "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we’ll make reasonable efforts to bring it to your attention.
